Today, we are constantly surrounded by electromagnetic fields (EMF) radiation. In this post, we will explore the supplements to defend against EMF exposures.
We’ll not get too deep into how and why EMF is harmful, so that we can keep this post from getting too long. So if you’re reading this, please at least have done some research on it, or be sure that you want to protect yourself from harmful electromagnetic fields.

General EMF Protection Practices
I’ve gone through few websites that discussed how to practice EMF protection and reduce exposures. The suggestions came down to:
- Taking time off from wireless devices
- Using EMF blankets
- Using EMF hats
- Setting a device on airplane mode
- Living further away from cell phone towers
- Using an EMF blocking wall paint
- Stones that absorbs EMF
- HImalayan salt lamp
- Turning off WiFi routers
- Using wired headphones rather than bluetooth
- Using wired computer rather than wireless laptops
- Keeping wireless devices further away from the body
Why Take Supplements to Defend Against EMF?
The traditional measures mentioned above are all great, and we should practice them as much as we can. However, the reason why I’m compiling the list of supplements to defend against EMF is because an enemy so sneaky, invisible, and patient like radiation, can abate anyone’s vigilance to be defensive.
I have himalayan salt lamp in my room, and have a plate of shungite stuck to the back of my phone. I do somewhat well for myself… But since this EMF enemy is so invisible and I don’t know how it’s affecting me, I don’t have the incentive to buy a wired computer or to live out in the rural area to limit my exposure. Until it’s obviously too late.
The remedy for that is to compile a list of supplements to defend against EMF exposure, and take them regularly. This makes EMF protection easier, and mindlessly done.
The Harm of EMF Exposure
The experts have assured us that EMF from cell towers, WiFi, and bluetooth are all safe. But from what I’ve come across, the researches that claims their safety are funded or conducted by the very people that will benefit from these technologies. And there are multiple supporting evidences to suggest that EMF from these sources do indeed cause harm.
As I said earlier, we won’t get too deep into how and why EMF is harmful to our health. We’ll keep this post mostly dedicated to the supplements to defend against EMF. I had come across the above chart in 2018, and found it to be the most comprehensive one I’ve seen. As I get further up in the chart, I want to move further away from this laptop that I’m writing on. I try not to think about it.
5G, the new 60 gigahertz technology, has been quite the hot topic recently. It triggers heated arguments like how politics and religions do. Some people think that this new flu is being disguised to cover-up 5G installation and activation. I saw a few Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts that either got banned or suspended from posting articles linking the two together. That is why I don’t mention the name of the new flu.
I don’t have the answer as to whether this new 60 gigahertz technology is harmful or not. But it’s good to see that people are questioning things, rather than just believing what’s being said on television, or by the government, parents, or school. EMF exposure does potently activate IL-6 and TNF-a , which are cytokine responses present in the onset of pneumonia and flu like symptoms.
We as people should keep on questioning the safety of this so called non-ionizing radiation. I will believe in the safety of wireless technologies when there’s multiple independent researches done on both short term and long term health effects.
Can humans adapt to wireless emissions and evolve? Or will we devolve from it? Can the wireless emissions be rendered harmless or deweaponized? For now, perhaps it is wise to continue the standard procedures of EMF exposure reduction, and to take the supplements to defend against EMF.
The following is a list of nutritional compounds that have been studied to demonstrate radioprotective effects. The studies were conducted mostly for ionizing radiation, such as radiation therapy for cancer and nuclear wastes. This means that there is no guarantee that the following supplements will protect one from all frequencies and types of radiation. Iodine can provide protection, let’s say if you had to go near Fukushima Nuclear Reactor, but there’s no evidence to suggest that it can do the same against WiFi or 5G. My best guess is that they would indeed provide protection.
The following radioprotective nutrients, at the worst, have antioxidant properties, so they could be useful in scavenging free radicals and maintain good health. If you’re serious about radioprotection, you will want to be taking more than just one from the 12 supplements to defend against EMF. This is especially true if our EMF exposure is about to drastically increase from 60 gigahertz technology.
12 Supplements to Defend Against EMF Exposure
1. Vitamin C
Pre-treatment with high dose of Vitamin C in mice can effectively reduce the fatality rate upon radiation exposure. It was able to increase survival rate even if administered after irradiation. Vitamin C can also protect the intestines from radiation damage . The safety profile of vitamin C is very high, and it’s a cheap and powerful antioxidant to keep around. It’s likely to be a good addition to the arsenal of supplements to defend against EMF.
In a study of 400 rats exposed to Chernobyl nuclear wastes, selenium rich diet after exposure lead to longer average lifespan. The rats were also up to 3.5 times less likely to get cancer of all sorts . Human studies has not been done to replicate the results.
3. Fullerene C60
This might just be one of the best supplements to defend against EMF. Fullerene C60 is a structure of 60 carbon molecule. It can be found in nature in the form of shungite rock, which is often used to attach onto cellular devices to absorb EMF. Rare paints have C60 mixed into, so that the walls can be painted to have radiation blocking property.
Fullerene C60 can also be consumed orally. In a rat model, feeding C60 in olive oil can increased their lifespan by 90% . There are no other known compounds that increases rats’ lifespans by that much. However, there’s no study conducted to suggest that Fulleren C60 can be effectively used as one of the supplements to defend against EMF.
Potassium Iodide has long been known to protect humans from radiations. During Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters, potassium iodide tablet were taken in order to prevent radioactive iodine from entering the thyroid. Ingesting iodine reduces the incidence of thyroid cancers caused by radiation by many fold. However, it is unclear whether iodine can protect one from other aspects of EMF toxicity. Iodine deficiency is common in North America, so it’s good to keep a bottle around.
In a study of workers exposed to EMF and ELF (extremely low frequency), resveratrol was found to have significant damage reversal effect . Also in mice study, resveratrol prevented the reduction of bone marrow and white blood cell from radiation . Resveratrol is considered a powerful antioxidant and if you’re living a sedentary lifestyle with standard American diet then it’s good to take. Definitely get a high quality one for this.
If you ever tried running a microwave with metal in it, then you saw the sparks ignite almost instantly. Some theories suggest that the heavy metals stored in our bodies will do the same upon EMF exposure, just on a smaller scale. Not proven, but scary to think about.
Zeolite is useful not only as one of the potential supplements to defend against EMF, but also to assist the elimination process of heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and aluminum .
In rats and sheeps, consumption of natural zeolite blocked the absorption of radioactive cesium, and lowered the concentration in animal’s organs [8, 9]. Zeolite can also be used to clean radioactive atoms in nuclear wastes 
Quercetin exhibits significant neuro-protection after brain injury caused by radiation. It can reduce the oxidative stress to the neural tissue due to radiation damage . Quercetin seems to give me calming effect. It should be combined with some food and Bromelain to have proper absorption. The purchasing links has Quercetin with added Bromelain.
Curcumin is a derivative of common spice, Turmeric. It can effectively ameliorate the inflammatory responses due to EMF exposure. Curcumin attenuates the phagocytic ability of the EMF exposed N9 cells. It can also inhibit expression of TNF-a, IL-6, and IL-1b increased by EMF exposure . In a small study, curcumin effectively reduced radiation dermatitis .
When you pick from the list of supplements to defend against EMF, you’ll want to weigh the cost and efficacy. Quality curcumin isn’t cheap as taking vitamin C, but it’s a very good supplement to have. And you need to only take it every second day or so.
9. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. It has analogues of 4 different tocopherols and 4 tocotrinols. The tocopherols and tocotrinols used previous to radiation exposure may reduce damage and recovery time . Vitamin E can also hasten selenium absorption.
10. NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine)
NAC is a precursor to glutathione, supposedly the mother of all antioxidants. It has high safety profile and is mainly used as a liver support. Administration of NAC prevented DNA strand breaks in mice during ionizing radiation exposure . Considering the safety and efficacy, NAC is a great addition to the supplements to defend against EMF.
11. Lipoic Acid
In mice, combination of Resveratrol and Lipoic Acid mitigated lung fibrosis and pneumonitis from radiation exposure . This again, brings interest of if wireless emission can cause flu like symptoms, or worsens a normal cold into a flu.
Along with Fullerene C60, Lipoic Acid might be one of the best supplements to defend against EMF. Lipoic Acid can also recycle vitamin C and Vitamin E. I recommend using stabilized lipoic acid so that the blood concentration level is more stable after ingesting.
The supposed master antioxidant, said to be the most powerful known to man. There are numerous studies citing to the protective effects of glutathione against irradiation:

Glutathione can be obtained as a dietary supplement, but they tend to have poor absorption, even by the brands that have attempted to maximize bioavailability. Some of the other supplements to defend against EMF are either glutathione precursors, or will raise the enzymes for your body to create more glutathione.
NAC is a precursor to glutathione.
Other glutathione increasing supplements to defend against EMF are: Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C, Selenium, and Sulforaphane [21, 22, 23, 24]. These either upregulate glutathione enzymes or preserves glutathione.
How to Take Supplements to Defend Against EMF
I take most of the supplements listed daily, or on and off. This was a good opportunity for me to learn more about their radioprotective effects, and find the researches backing them up. I tried to find a site that compiled the list of supplements to defend against EMF, but with no success. Considering the potential harm of new wireless rolling out, it was well worth the time trying to compile the list.
